Our guest speakers are Tom & Kelly Brown, former leaders of the Berkeley Church of Christ. We are so excited to welcome them back to where it all began!
Tom and Kelly have led churches in Boulder, Boston, San Francisco and Los Angeles and have been phenomenal champions of campus ministries wherever they have led. They now live in Atlanta and serve as senior ministry leaders in the dynamic North River Church of Christ. Tom also had a decade long career in the corporate world and understands the many challenges facing our marriages and families. Their personal story is also inspiring and includes overcoming many challenges through their years of married life. The Browns have been married for 40 years and have 2 children, Ryan and Ashley and 2 grandchildren they adore!
They are known for their youthful spirit and creativity in the ministries they have led. Tom & Kelly's passion in life is to build up the local body of Christ and help prepare the next generation to lead in God's kingdom. They have a particular gift in inspiring young men & women to train for the ministry, and send them out to strengthen other churches. Kelly Brown was converted as a Sophomore at the University of Florida in 1971 and graduated with a BS in Mathematics. She was a campus leader in college and led a fruitful Bible talk in her sorority at Kappa Delta that God used to led 9 sorority sisters to Christ. Kelly and Tom married in 1975 and moved to Boulder, Colorado to plant a dynamic campus ministry at the University of Colorado. This pacesetting women's ministry baptized over 100 CU girls in 3 1/2 years. One of Kelly’s greatest convictions is that the young women in our churches are our future and that mature sisters in Christ must continue to teach the younger so they can benefit from all that we have learned through the years.
