Cynthia was baptized last Sunday!
We wanted to announce that in the East Bay on Sunday, October 18th, Cynthia was baptized into Christ! She is an incredible example of perseverance and strength throughout many challenges to keep her studies on track. Cynthia is Gin Ivy's mother and Ivver's grandmother, both disciples in our Oakland/Alameda Fellowship Group. The family now includes 5 amazing disciples, including Cynthia's son, Dennis and his wife, Kat, who worship at the Triangle Church in Raleigh, North Carolina. Both Dennis and Kat surprised her and came out for her baptism. - Sandra, The City Fellowship Group Here is some sharing from Cynthia's family: "My mom is an incredibly dedicated wife to my dad. She's faced challenges that most women would have walked away from, yet her loyalty and unconditional love for our family never wavered. I've witnessed the transformative power of the Bible in her life, as she emerged from a different place through her faith in God. When you get to know her you’ll find a lesson in loving someone unconditionally. Since 1993, we've been praying for her to become a disciple, and we are overjoyed that she has made the decision to make Jesus her Lord. We are profoundly thankful for this incredible gift from God. After hearing Barbara sharing on Sunday, I too envision my mom taking the lead in guiding young married women and positively impacting the lives of women within our community." - Gin Ivy "Mom has come a long way. She was honest during the different studies and knew she wasn't ready. She wanted to understand more before she would commit. Behind it all, God was working in changing her heart through the Word. When she was ready, deep inside we were joyful. It is God that changes the heart and it builds my faith to see it in action." - Dennis "After hearing that Mama Cynthia was interested in doing a bible study, we were eager to see her grow in love for God. Now that she has been baptized, we are even more excited to see her follow Jesus. She has inspired us beyond words." - Kat Cynthia, welcome to the Kingdom of God and the SF Bay Fellowship Family! |
All Fellowship Sunday ServiceSunday, October 29, 2023 Join us as we meet in the East Bay for our All Fellowship Service at Cal State East Bay. We will meet at 10:30 AM at Cal State East Bay in the Valley Business and Technology Center. Click on the button below for a map of the campus with circles around the parking lots to park in and where the building is located on campus. Parking is free on Sundays. Our guest speakers are John and Barbara Porter from Clemson, South Carolina John and Barbara were both baptized as college students in the early 1980’s. John was studying Mechanical Engineering at Clemson University and Barbara was a student at Harvard Law School. After graduating, they entered the ministry in 1985. Barbara was part of the Toronto church planting and John served as the leader of the church in Clemson, South Carolina. While still single, they went as missionaries to Mexico City in 1987 where they were married in 1988. Shortly after their wedding, they moved to Sāo Paulo, Brazil to work with the newly planted church. They lived for a total of nine years in Sāo Paulo, and both their children, Joseph and Jacqueline, were born there. They have served in several churches in Florida and also lived in the Miami area for more than 10 years, training ministers and missionaries. After being in the traditional ministry for 30 years they decided to step out on faith and do ministry in a different way. Their new ministry is focused on developing a house church model. Since 2016, Barbara has been working for HOPE worldwide. John works part time as a bookkeeper, but his passion is devoting the rest of his time to developing this model, training others and providing resources for those interested in planting churches in this way through his nonprofit, From House to House (fromhousetohouse.org). John and Barbaa currently live in Clemson, South Carolina. For more infomation visit: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1OcTDBr947vMd5rvOR2NNRk0jwDTfOFl_/view
