We Have Come To The End Of Our 2024 Missions Contribution Month! Please pray that God will multiply this money that we raised to help our 5 sister churches around the world. Donate today by using Tithely or by sending us a check! Today is the end of our our first annual Missions Contribution collection that will be giving to five of our sister churches in Angola, Bangkok Thailand, Philippines, RevivEE (Eastern Europe) and Uruguay. *** We have raised over $50,000!! *** We appreciate every single donation that you have given and are grateful for your faith and gift. (We hope to give a more detailed report in the near future.) If you would still like to make a donation, you can give on our website today using Tithely, or you can give us by sending in a check if you do not want to pay the Tithely fee. While the collection ends today, we do not want to not turn awayone who still wishes to donate to these other churches, so we ask any who still want to donate to please send the donation in ASAP so that we can complete processing all of the checks in early July. To Donate Using Tithely: Go to our website, go to the "Give" page, and click on the drop-down menu where it says "General Fund." You will see all five churches listed, and you can select which church you want to give to. (You will also see a "Missions-General" account - for those of us who may not have a preference and want to donate. All the funds in the Missions-General account will be distributed amongst one or more of the five sister churches selected this year.) To Donate Via Check: Some of us may not want to pay the Tithely fee, which can become a stumbling block. Please know you can always send us a check with your donation by sending it to: SF Bay Fellowship, 660 4th Street #294, San Francisco, CA 94107 The five sister churches: If you want a reminder of our connection to each of the five churches we are donating to, please click on the link here. It will take you to last weekend's newsletter, which has a short summary of our connection to each of the five sister churches. God is moving! We hope that all of us will continue in prayer for God to move powerfully and help us raise more money for these sister churches in these last few days and that our brothers and sisters worldwide feel the love of God and the love of their spiritual families around the world. Happy Fourth of July!
On Thursday of this week we hope you have a Happy 4th of July to those of us who celebrate this federal holiday! In 1870, the U.S. Congress made July 4th (Independence Day) a federal holiday and then in 1941, it became a paid holiday for all federal employees. Over the years, Independence Day remains an important national holiday and a symbol of independence and freedom for some communities. The concept of freedom is certainly important in our mainstream culture and the story of our nation. It is also a central theme in the Gospel of Christ. How does the Bible talk about freedom? 1 Cor 9:19 Though I am free and belong to no one, I have made myself a slave to everyone, to win as many as possible. 1 Peter 2:16 Live as free people, but do not use your freedom as a cover-up for evil; live as God’s slaves. James 1:25 But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues in it—not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it—they will be blessed in what they do. While many celebrate freedom this week, many feel their freedoms are being taken away, or they don't have equal freedoms. For those of us celebrating, as we reflect on and celebrate our freedom, let us empathize with others who may not have the same freedom. Let us express gratitude for those fighting for our different forms of freedom and the freedoms of others, both past and present, and let us pray that we all can experience the freedom of Christ. |

The Merced Christian Church Invites Us To A Fourth of July Potluck BBQ!
(If you plan to attend, please send a text or email to Brock so he can let the Oakes know how any folks are going to ensure there is enough food for everyone.) Our sister church in Merced, the Merced Christian Church, has invited us to a Fourth of July Family Potluck and BBQ in Merced! Want to get out of town for the Fourth? Consider heading down to Merced, to Lake Yosemite Park inside Veteran's Cove, 5714 Lake Road, Merced, CA. Get ready for a day filled with fun and excitement! We have a range of activities planned, including volleyball, kayak rentals, fishing, swimming in the lake, and many other games. You can also bring a side dish or dessert to share, and the rest will be provided. It will be an all-day event. People will be at the park beginning at 9 AM, and the event officially starts at 10 AM, but lunch will be served at noon. They suggest people show up sooner rather than later because after about 10:30 AM, there will probably be a significant line to enter. Also, those coming you do not need to pay for parking. Say you are attending the event sponsored by the Merced Christian Church at Veteran's Cove to get free entry. Many thanks to the Fresno/Central Valley church for helping to sponsor the event and the Merced church for inviting us to join the fun!
